Dimosthenis Prodromou
Personal Statement
Dimosthenis Prodromou studied Moving Image and Fine Art at East London University. His personal style is interdisciplinary and mainly driven from ideas. It is actually a process that relies on observation and consists of diverse approaches. Sculpture and installation art are often interwoven throughout his output. He makes art out of things we handle every day and don't consider as being of value or significance. He incorporates with these materials, in order to give them a new meaning in his practice.
His primary subject matter is the human nature and our activities. Using a variety of materials, he is exploring the human form to create visual evidence of our human behaviour. In this context his work is also integral with the architecture of the space and its functionality. By extension his work often points a surprise element for the spectator in order to put under question our visual world and how we engage with it.
